One thing I don't understand about guys. Why do they accuse us of being "pissy" all the time, yet when an instance comes up that we're not upset, they accuse us of being so until we do get upset?

Take today for example. Dan's parents want him to come over Sunday and put up wall board (or whatever) in his old closet because they're making his old room into a guest bedroom. And of course I have Sunday off...then he told me today that apparently his dad wants him to come over at like 8 in the morning and put drywall up and mud it and all that, which would take a good portion of the day. Well, either way, I had no desire to go with him (nor was I invited anyway) and upon learning this I said, "Well, maybe I'll go up to Mt Pleasant then" (Saturday night or something).

He's like, "What's in Mt Pleasant?" (and he had 'the tone' when he said this).

I said, "Something to do. I don't want to sit here all day doing nothing because you're gone." Apparently he took this as accusatory? We talked back and forth about it a little more; he says he's not going over there that early in the morning, and that it wouldn't take that long, depending on which they did (wall board or dry wall. I don't even know what wall board is). And I said he should call his parents then and find out which they were doing cuz I didn't want to sit here. And he was like, "Why are you getting defensive?" And I wasn't! But I don't want to sit here all day on my day off, especially on the weekend, and it just so happens to be that most of my friends are in Mt Pleasant now.

But he persisted, and was like, I don't see why you're getting upset. And I did get upset, because he's accused me in such a way before.

He's the one who says I don't hang out with my friends anymore since we got back together in the first place!

Ridiculous.

This morning after Dan left and I fell back to sleep, I had a dream that Chicago was only like 3 hours away from here, and that I knew some people out there with this big huge house with lots of extra rooms. I kept driving out there when I had a free day or two and staying there.

I wish Chicago was that close! I'd be there constantly.

It's all over. I turned in the keys today. Apartment 4, you will be missed.

Those of you who were wondering where I was last weekend, I'll show you.

This, unfortunately, is only a small corner of the large building we (Dan and I) stayed in - Boyne Highlands Resort waaay up north. It was a wonderful getaway - we drove up Friday night (about 3 hours), got some dinner at a cute little fifties-style diner, and hung out in our hotel room. Which looked like this, when you walk in and look to your left:

Go past that, and straight ahead was this quaint little alcove thinger:

There was even a mini fridge in the cabinet thing (they didn't put anything fun in it for us though - it was empty).

Your view from there, to the left again, was this:

Go through the opening, and to one side was the ginormous bed. You can't really tell here, but there was like 7 pillows on it.

and to the right was this:

It was a pretty big room.

Saturday we slept in late (might as well spend a good amount of time in a bed that big and comfy) then went for a swim. Then we drove out to Mackinaw City, and upon discovering that round trip tickets to the island were $20 each (and neither of us had much spending money), we wandered in and out of the shops on the street near the shore. The weather was perfect - mostly sunny, not too hot. There was an arcade there, so we stopped and played some skeeball (my favorite) then turned in the tickets for some candy. After 2 or 3 hours we'd had our fill, so we went back to Petosky, hung out in the room for awhile (we'll leave it at that), took a nap, got some dinner, and went for a swim after dark.

Sunday morning we had to check out by 11am, so we didn't have time for much more than a shower and some TV. But it was good enough. I could use more vacations like this.

Curse myspace and their "routine maintainence!"

As I was sitting at the exit of the Old Navy plaza, waiting to turn left after working today, this big truck for like a landscaping company honked as it approached. Just one short, friendly honk, not the lay-on-the-horn hostile honk, and I looked up in time to see the guy in the passenger seat - a younger guy, probably around my age, not bad looking - hang out the window, smile, and flex his arm at me as the truck passed by.

I laughed. I thought it might've been one of my brother's friends, but I didn't recognize him.

Too bad girls don't do stuff like that, they'd be so much more fun if they did. :P

The moving situation is not progressing as well as I would like it to, though obviously that's my fault. This last weekend, between work and parties and my dad's, I hardly had any free time. I attended a bonfire at Jon's house for a couple hours Friday night after getting out of work at 10pm. Saturday it was back to work for a 4 hour shift, after which I did manage to get Dan to help me bring over a couple car loads.

I'm discovering that I have a lot of stuff.

Saturday night, Ryan's birthday party. He has a pool which was wonderful seeing as it was like 95 degrees all day. Not many people showed up (you bastards) which meant more pizza and cake for us.

Sunday I spent most of my day in St. Charles, where my dad fixed the main problems with my car (the passenger window didn't go down, the steering wheel was off center, etc.). Turns out I need 4 new tires though (the tread is worn almost completely off the two front tires and the two back tires don't hold their air very well) and a wheel alignment.

Ah, if it's not one thing, it's another.

My phone crashed today. I flipped it open to read a text message during my break at work, hit the "view now" button, and glanced down to see that the screen had gone into a million tiny multi-colored dots. None of the buttons would respond - not even the power button. I took the battery out and put it back in a few times, to no avail. I left it off then turned it back on during my lunch break, at which point it gave me its equivelant to the "blue screen of death." I took it to the Verizon store, where I asked the guy, "Why is my phone doing this and how do I get it to stop?" He played with it a little, pushed some buttons, and said, "Sweet. It's done for. Take it to [the tech support room] and he'll exchange it for you." Apparently the software crashed, and the blue screen meant that the phone thought it was hooked up to Verizon's computer. Which it obviously was not.

The whole process was relatively painless, because apparently Verizon puts all their phones under a one-year warranty (as opposed to 90 days like I previously thought. Not that it would've mattered as I'd only had the phone since May). I was in and out during my lunch hour and still had time to stop for some McDonald's.

Anyway, the point of the story is, the phone wouldn't turn on, therefore they couldn't access anything on it. Therefore, I lost my entire phone book. So IM me, email me, leave a comment if you feel so inclined, but gimme your numbers!

I got the devil's box installed today. Cable tv, that is. I haven't had it in years but recently I got sick of my lack of workable channels.

I can't help it. I miss watching Jeopardy and The Price is Right.

Flipping through the wealth of channels I now have though, I can see why I didn't miss cable too much previously. My main viewing choices seem to be reruns for sitcoms I've never heard of, local programming (South Middle school has a tv channel? What about Webber?) or Montel Williams - and oh, how I hate talk shows.

I chose MTV. Cuz it's actually (sorta) playing music right now. After I watched the season finale of Flavor of Love and made sure that Flava didn't pick the bitchy girl, that is.

He didn't.

I was commanded to spread the word, so here it is:

Luke will be home in mid/late October. His 21st birthday is October 20 so expect a good party, he says. More details to come in the future, I expect.

If all went according to plan (which I'm pretty sure it did) my brother is well on his way to Arizona as of early this morning. He spent the weekend and the 4th up at Higgins Lake with his friend Bryce's family, so I didn't get to see him much. It took them 4.5 hours to get home yesterday with all the traffic, and I thought I wasn't going to get to see him at all before he left (he was driving down to stay at my grandparent's a couple hours south of here after he got home, and I had to work 4 to 10).

But somewhat to my surprise, he came up to work to see me while I was on my lunch. I only had a few minutes left but it was certainly better than nothing.

It's weird, my brother and I have never lived in separate states before. It was strange to me living in separate houses for a year. But if anyone can drop everything and start a new life 2100 miles away, it's him.

I'd be lying if I said I won't miss him though.
