Well today started the first day of my last semester at SVSU. Class went uneventfully; one will be pretty easy and the other likely won't be too bad if I keep up on all the reading. Wednesday I'll have my third class, which I'm looking forward to at least a little because I know two of my friends will be in it.

Last week, as I mentioned, I took the whole week off; I pretty much did nothing the whole time, with the exception of having my littlest little sister over. She came over Wednesday morning and we went bowling (she actually beat me by a point in the first game), then had lunch and played putt-putt golf. I took her to the arcade, and after dinner I was subjected to the Hannah Montana concert movie in 3D... Disney's gotta be loving my sister; she's got Hannah Montana everything and was on their website about 7 times to play the games they've got on there. Also, she uses YouTube more than I do, and she's eight. I was enlightened to the fact that people make videos showing lyrics to a song while it plays, not unlike karaoke screens, except the words don't light up when you're supposed to sing them. So I played air guitar in my sister's band while she hammed it up to Miley Cyrus. She wore me out, really. She stayed Wednesday night, and Thursday we went to check out the zoo, though I don't think either of us was especially thrilled by it... We still had fun, but it was HOT. So after some Taco Bell we went bowling again. Stardust was having their $1 games/shoes thing, and she seemed to enjoy it as much as I do.

We also played Yahtzee Jr. and Skip Bo. Good times. People don't play enough board/card games anymore.

Otherwise I spent my week reading and writing, and working on various miscellaneous projects, none of which included cleaning or doing laundry. I had a new idea for the wall in my living room to replace the nearly-famous blue wall; now I've just gotta get motivated to finish it. I've also been reading that Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer; I realize the target audience is teenagers (Jake has teased me a bit about this), but I've really gotten into them nonetheless - it's an intriguing storyline. I just bought the last one online for less than half the list price, which is exciting (it came today!) and, at the risk of sounding like a fan girl, I'm actually looking forward to the movie this November, though they will undoubtedly find some way to screw it up... Regardless, I've already gotten Jake to agree to coming with me, unless someone more interested is willing to take his place... :P

Speaking of Jake, he's off in Warren training for a job at Art Van until Friday, which means my week will probably be particularly lonely... So send me some love.

Two things:

1) I finally got my audit results back today. Pending my three fall classes, I officially get to graduate in December. Woo hoo!

2) I took next week (August 18-23) off from work. No special plans yet, except possibly Ren Fest on the 18th, so if you want to do something lemme know before the calendar fills up. :P

I just wrote a new short story. I feel incredibly accomplished; I don't even care if it's good or not. I'm just thrilled that I actually finished something.

Jeff has resurfaced as of late; they've changed his work schedule yet again so I've been seeing more of him. Yesterday we went to the mall and today we hit up Barnes and Noble. And I'm proud to say that I didn't buy anything (except some cinnamon sugar pretzel sticks from Auntie Anne's) either time. Mainly because doing so would have put my bank account in the negative... Eh well.

Last week I went to Mt P. for the first time in almost a year. Ryan had free passes for Dark Knight so he, Anna, and I went to see it. I enjoyed it, though the 1989 Michael Keaton/Jack Nicholson Batman will forever hold a place in the Movies section of my heart... All three of us were broke so there was very little drinking after the movie, but we went back to Ryan's for the night and hung out. Anna and I were up til 4am talking, until she fell asleep to me droning on about something... The next day she and I went to Buffalo Wild Wings for brunch since we don't have one here then she took me on a tour of the vet she works at. She treated me to ice cream before I left since it was a little too early for dinner and I paid for brunch. We had Dairy Queen (another restaurant we don't have around here; lame) which was delicious and refreshing.

And Friday night Jake, Jeff and I went bowling, because on my way home from Owosso (where I spent the day with my mom, little sis, and grandma) I saw that the bowling alley across the street advertised $1 bowling and shoes. We didn't end up going to that bowling alley, because their phone has a recording that says they're closed for remodeling, but there's another place down the street which was an adequate substitute. I sucked, as usual (my best score was something like 84) but it was fun.

And today I listed a bunch of my textbooks on half.com, because unfortunately the semester starts in less than a month and I'm hoping to make a little money to put toward new textbooks, which I need to go in and get a list of probably this week. I'm not excited about the end of summer but it's quite a consolation that I only have to buy books one more time (unless, of course, I decide on grad school someday). Still waiting on the results of my audit. Monday will mark three weeks since I turned in the paperwork, so I'm hoping it'll be any day now.
