I turned 21 in Chicago. Which means technically I delayed my birthday by an hour but I got my hour back at the end of the night. We drove around some weird back roads looking for the Durand train station (note: never use Google maps for rural areas) for about 40 minutes after our train was scheduled to depart; lucky for us it had maintainance issues in Flint, so it was an hour late.

Friday in Chicago I got my shopping in and we ate at TGI Friday's. Then some more shopping. Then Dan and I chilled at the hotel while Ryan and Jeff sought out a bar. They found one just down the street.

At midnight, we joined them, and Ryan and Jeff bought me my first drink.

Some kind of martini the waitress recommended that tasted like a popsicle. Upon receiving the bar tab, Ryan and Jeff decided we should go somewhere else. So it was back to TGI Friday's, where I discovered that I do not like margaritas.

This was taken by our waiter before Ryan walked back to the hotel and Jeff became incoherant.

After a few hours of sleep and some more shopping, Jeff, Dan and I went to the Field museum

where we saw Anna!

(j/k...I heart you anna)

We had dinner (and drinks) at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Then Dan and I went to the Excalibur night club, which wasn't as exciting as we'd hoped. But they let me in for free since it was my birthday.

Before we left the next morning, we stopped at the Dunkin Donuts across/down the street for breakfast.

.

Mind you, that was just Dan's and my share. Ryan and Jeff had their own box.

At the hotel not long before we left....note how they're all wearing the same shirt (Old Navy special, woo hoo!).

And that was that.
MI birthday party Saturday night, come drink with me, etc. etc.

Note to my Chicago people:

Our train leaves Durand at 702am Friday morning. We're staying Thursday night at my mom's because it's closer than here. So make plans to be at or near my place as soon as possible Thursday after 7pm cuz I'd like to head in that direction by 8.

I'm busy now, so that is all.

arizona dreamin'

I feel like I'm in a dream world out here...sunny and 70, palm trees and cactuses lining the streets (like in the movies!)...a delicious breakfast at an IHOP, a dip in the outdoor hot tub at 930pm (that's almost midnight for you kids) and more shopping than all the bags I could ever carry...and that was just here in Chandler.

Today we're off to Pheonix. We were going to go to Mexico tomorrow but apparently they won't let you back into America without a birth certificate.

Next time though, it is ON.

It seems I've forgotten my camera cord, so no pictures for you yet.

Jeff's birthday party was much fun... I think that's about the most "tipsy" I've ever been (it doesn't take much)... I have pictures, I'll put them up somewhere (here or facebook).

I leave for AZ on Wednesday, I'm supremely excited.

So, apparently writing about Pam in your blog is the way to get her to leave you alone. I didn't think I even wrote anything bad. It's just ironic to me how she tries so hard to stay in contact with people that don't even really like her (Jeff, Anna, Kelly, Ryan) yet someone like me, who actually will talk to her (with the exception of the gay bar, where she did not say anything to me either), she's quick to shun (shun the non-believer! Shhhhhhhhuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnn....).

Anywho. Happy birthday Jeff, for the 2934th time, and I've been cleaning the apartment in your honor for Saturday (Jeff's birthday party! My house! Be there!).

I also intended to gather up some stuff and pack for my AZ trip, but I gave that plan up in favor of being lazy. Speaking of which, I have a couple of rented movies to watch.
