I actually have some time to do stuff right now but I don't have the energy. I think it's safe to conclude that I am not a morning person, nor do I like having to get out of bed before 10am. Oh, the sacrifices we make for money...
Next week the shipment time for our store switches from 11am to 930am. But that means the latest I'll be there in the evening is 530 instead of 7. I'll have more time to accomplish all the things I've been putting off at home. Maybe.
Speaking of which, does anyone want some of my stuff? I've got waaaay too much. Seriously.
Yesterday Jake and I couldn't think of anything to do so we drove to Detroit and hung out. It was like going to a "big city" without even having to leave the state! Sort of. We wandered through the Renaissance Building and up and down the streets and ate dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. Afterward we walked down by the river and stared at Windsor for awhile. They had bands playing outdoors in two or three different spots throughout the city; by the river that night happened to be the Romantics - and they weren't charging cover or anything, you could just wander by or stop and watch/listen as you pleased. I was rather impressed with the multitude of people that were out and about. Cleveland was fairly dead while we were there, especially for a Saturday night. 'Course I guess it's not as much of a tourist town as, say, Chicago or New York.
But moving on, I shall leave you with a lovely picture of some part of the city for your viewing pleasure.

I have been ridiculously busy lately and I've hardly noticed the absence of internet at all (though admittedly I did cave in and use Jake's a time or two - but that was for important banking matters!...and stuff). Apparently being switched to full-time at work means they want me to work a lot more hours...huh. Really though, I can't wait for my next paycheck. It'll be about 70 hours, so roughly $500, as opposed to the $300 I'm used to... and that's not calculating in the raise I'm supposed to get (I still don't know how much I'm getting nor am I entirely sure when it takes effect).
Monday I went to Great Lakes Crossing with Kat (a friend from work) and spent money I didn't have (I justified it with my new dress code at work - I have to dress more professionally now). It was a lot of fun though; among other things I found a pair of black dress pants that are actually long enough for me and picked up a copy of the first Pirates movie and a really cool jacket from H&M. I swear there was no H&M last time I went to GLC.
After I got back into town I picked up Jeff, who had called me while I was on my way to GLC and informed me that he was in town. He, Jake and I went to Nine's then to the Red Eye. I miss hanging out downtown; I haven't gotten many chances to do so since I've moved. Maybe next week I'll find some time...
Then Tuesday James came into town from Port Huron; it was pretty much the first time I've heard from him all summer, the jerk. We hung out around my place til Jake got out of work, then he came to the Pub with us that night to watch Jedi Mind Trip. My friend Sarah from work and one of her friends met us there too, and I saw a few other people I work with/used to work with, which was entertaining. The band had some other band opening for them though, which was not as entertaining. They were songs I'd never heard, and we couldn't sing along. That and the bartender didn't make my whiskey sours very strong and I had to switch to Long Islands. Not extremely fond of the taste of Long Islands but they did the job.
Ugg. I kind of want to go to bed. But I didn't get up until noon today. I shouldn't be tired yet. Though I guess I did go to bed rather late last night. I've got the place to myself tonight, which is nice; I don't know where Liz is at or when she'll be home, if at all. So far though living with her is working out rather well; actually, we hardly see each other. So far we've completely avoided getting on each other's nerves; hopefully it continues that way, haha.

We're getting the internet at our new place Friday morning. Which means I'll be able to get back in touch with all the people I'm too lazy to call/visit.
Oh, and I got promoted at work, woo! I'm what they call a "full-time logistics key holder." Which means I get paid more (not sure how much more yet) to work more hours (30-40 a week, as opposed to the random 10 to 35 I got as a part-timer). I also will be the shift supervisor like 10 hours a week, I guess. Apparently I'm going to be trained to open and close the store too. Plus benefits and PTO, woo! It might kinda suck when class starts back up, but maybe now I'll actually be able to save up some money. I have no idea when my training is going to start but I guess my raise (whatever it may be) will have gone into effect last Sunday and will therefore be on my next paycheck.
Well, that's all you get for now.
