is anybody out there?I feel like I'm starting to lose touch with everyone. The only one I talk to on a semi-regular basis is Ryan, and that's usually only because he's thoughtful enough to call me once in awhile and insist that I call him back. I did hear from Jeff the other day and I thought we were going to make the trip to Mt P last night, but Ryan is having car problems again and mine's not quite in the condition necessary for long trips. Almost though, almost...
The real problem here is my schedule; I work 32-40 hours a week and spend another 15 in class, plus several more on homework. Factor in Jake time, sleep time, and cooking/eating time and my waking hours are pretty much full. With the weather getting crappier, I can't really go down to the Red Eye and see all those people (they tend to loiter outside). Which means less human interaction for Rachel. I spend more time with my co-workers (a group which now includes Jake's brother Caleb) than my friends (to be fair, I do consider some co-workers friends, but I don't usually see them outside of work). It looks as though things are only going to get worse; the Christmas season is fast approaching in the retail world and so are all the end-of-semester projects in school...
A proud moment in my life has come though; I've stopped carrying credit cards. Last night I bought $65 worth of groceries with REAL MONEY. Woo!
Oh, I almost forgot. I finally submitted some poems and pictures to Cardinal Sins, and they've picked one poem and one picture to publish in the next magazine! Yay! This means I actually might have some talent as a writer. And a photographer/photo-shopper. Or they just had a lack of good submissions to publish. Anyway, I'm excited.

Last week may just have been the busiest/most exhausting week of my life.
I had two papers due. I worked 40 hours. Between school and work, in fact, I haven't had a day off in almost 3 weeks. Actually, by this Saturday, it will have been 3 weeks. I have trouble staying up past 10 or 1030pm anymore. But I can't ever complain that I'm bored.
Anna has been leaving me hints on facebook that I should come up there and visit. I'd like to; lack of money for once is not an issue. But I'd have to request days off from work to do it. I haven't talked to Jeff in ages...
Speaking of money, I took my car to Firestone the other day for a new wheel bearing and an alignment. I figured I'd let them do the bearings, since I needed them to do the alignment anyway, and save my dad the trouble. Then I found out they wanted almost $200 to replace a $60 part. So I said just the alignment. Apparently they couldn't do that either because, as I suspected, the car has other issues that need taken care of. I ended up getting nothing but a list of recommended services that my car needs, all of which totaled up to about $700. Just dandy. As my brother's friend Bryce told me, what my car really needs is a For Sale sign.
And there's your brief monthly update on the happenings of Rachel; I need to go study for my third and final exam of the day (that's right, three of my classes scheduled tests on the
same day) after which I will actually have some FREE TIME! WOO!
