One massive 13-page sociology project done; two five-page papers are now the only things standing between me and the end of the semester (aside from finals...blah).

I'm in the computer lab on break from my 7-10 poetry class. I actually got one of the chairs that still has its height-adjustment lever. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but many of the chairs in here have been raised to their highest height and then the lever has been broken off so that you can't lower it. So you get tall people like me hunching over to see the screen...

Anyway. Thanksgiving resulted in two meals, because both my mom and Jake's mom insisted that we come for dinner. Somewhere in that timespan I concocted my sociology paper and worked every day over break except Thanksgiving itself (and technically I worked that day too; Wednesday night we got held over til 1am). Black Friday wasn't as much of a nightmare as everyone anticipated, though I did miss the morning's sales because I had to be at Old Navy at 9am and had no interest in getting up any earlier than I needed to.

Christmas is officially on the way, woo! People keep asking me what I want though, and I don't know what to tell them. So far the only things I really want are a George Foreman grill (the countertop version), a dustbuster, and a lap top... Pretty sure I'm not getting the laptop.

Back to class I go.

This morning I learned how many miles my car can go once the low gas light comes on.

For the record, in the city it's about 25.

Lucky for me I noticed the accelerator wasn't doing its job anymore, and that there was a gas station right up on the left. Lucky for me the lanes were clear for turning and my car had enough momentum to coast right up to an empty pump even though the engine had shut itself off by then. And, lucky for me, my car insurance hasn't been deducted from my bank account yet, which means I still had my last few dollars for gas.

It pretty much went downhill from there though. (This is the part where I rant about my job). Work sucked. I wasn't motivated at all and really just didn't want to be there. I'm tired of working with lazy people who don't care, and I'm tired of not getting done what I need to have done because I have to clean up other people's messes.

And so on and so forth. I actually found myself seriously debating finding another job today. I'm trying to tell myself that it'll get better once the semester's over and especially once the Christmas season is over. But there comes a point when you have to ask yourself, is the extra money really worth all the trouble? (Of course, the answer is usually "yes.")

So I think the 4-year anniversary of this blog-site here is fast-approaching. Yay...

The Christmas season is upon us in the retail world and I'm not excited about that. Next week our truck is going to have something like 11,000 units on it... Is it too soon to call in sick for Tuesday?

Jeff was in town the other night. We went to the Red Eye like old times but Jake and I both had to get up early the next day so we parted ways at midnight. It sounds like Jeff has decided to make some changes in his life, to say the least. I'm debating a trip up to Mt P. a week from Friday since next week is pay week. What are you guys doing next Friday night?

For my Sociology of Aging class I have to do this ridiculous term paper (10 to 15 pages long) and in order to get the info I needed, I had to interview two "old" people (in their 60's). I interviewed my mom's mom and my dad's dad, and I have to say I found out some interesting information about their lives. It kinda makes me want to go through and interview the rest of my family.

Well, I'm off to do more homework.
