I should be doing homework; you can see what I'm doing instead. I also did a countdown of how many days stand between me and graduation; I think the count for today is somewhere around 80. I will have to attend class on roughly 22 of those days.
I went to Jamie's bridal shower last weekend; it was fun. I actually scored better on their "how well do you know Josh and Jamie?" quiz than Josh's mom did, lol. And I just guessed on a couple of them; I guess I know them better than I thought.
There was also delicious food, of course.
Saturday night Jake and I went to the Ratatat concert at Calvin College in Grand Rapids. Calvin has a pretty nice setup; they actually let people park right in front of the building and walk in. And the auditorium was nice; they had cool hanging lights from the ceiling that gave it a neat 3D effect. Ratatat put on a great show even though their set was kind of short. I was kind of surprised at how full the auditorium was, too; most of the people I mentioned the concert to around here had never heard of them (if you've never heard of them, go download "Lex" and "Wildcat" at least).
This week my work schedule is weird. They've taken me off shipment at work and have finally decided to move me into my "new" position as women's department lead. So instead of being scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 to 6, my schedule is a little more arbitrary... This Thursday will be my first Thursday off since I took my vacation week. Wee.
Also, I discovered a new card game last week while hanging out with Scott and Sarah (which may become a Tuesday night tradition; I'm waiting for further instruction for tonight as I type) called Quiddler. So if you see a copy, buy it for me. If it's less than $5 I'll pay you back.

Recent events of interest:
Well, really, you'll have to decide whether it's interesting or not.
So far classes look like they'll be reasonably easy, aside from all the reading. I tried to do one of the chapter readings for my Motivation class last night and couldn't get through it because I kept nodding off. It was one of the driest and most dull things I've had to read yet. On a happier note, I discovered last night also that my graduation date will be December 12 - a day or so earlier than I first anticipated.
I've been giving some thought to joining Americorps after I graduate. There are a few reasons, not all of which I want to get into here, but I'd like to do something productive with my life for at least a year, and it'd open up some other opportunities as well. There are pages and pages of different programs they're offering, and I didn't actually apply for anything yet, but I did register on the site. The NCCC chapter (would it be considered a chapter?) is set up so that you go live on one of four campuses for 11 months and travel to sites that need assistance. The description they've got up currently states that the Americorps would be spending at least 60% of their year down in gulf-coast states helping with disaster relief. I think I could handle that. I've got to do a little more research.
In more local news, my brother, Sonya, and Jonah are staying with my mom this week, up from AZ. I spent most of the weekend with them; Jonah is pretty much the coolest baby ever. I realize everyone thinks that about their family members (or at least babies) but they're wrong. Saturday we had lunch at my grandparents, after which many pictures were taken, then we made a fire in my mom's backyard once it got dark and sat around it for awhile. Sunday included breakfast, more sitting around and eventually a trip to Saginaw. I hope they'll be back tonight (which is the tentative plan); tomorrow it's a group visit to the father-unit's house; hopefully that goes well... my dad's still being sort of stubborn about the whole situation, to say the least.
